If only USTA followed Warren Buffett hiring tips.
By Javier Palenque
Below is an article sent to me by a friend, I read it and thought: if only USTA followed some of these tips, would I be still asking for participation numbers by age and zip four years later? would I be asking for board minutes for the last five years? would I still be writing to get three Chairmen of the board to show me a plan on how to grow the game and the results of their plans in the last decade? Or show me what is the return on the $1B capital investment? or a comparative chart on investment in US Open vs. parks and foundation?
Read the article and you be the judge, what if we hired for integrity, imagine where the sport would be today. But then again who elected the old boys?
I say NO to ineptitude and YES to growing the game.
