Dear Mr. Sherr:

A friend sent me a video link to a Tennis Channel 8-minute video segment in which the organization you lead claims that tennis in the USA has never been in a better place and that the system in place is what does wonders. You will also hear the head of Player Development claiming that the USTA has helped 70–80% in the pathway of the players that we currently see. Of course, I and many others have an opposite view of the USTA and Player Development. Since this is an area that you oversee, I respectfully ask that you clarify the following for the country, the sponsors, and the public in general.

In the video that you can see here; 16 ranked players are showcased as an achievement of the USTA. Several years ago, I wrote to the head of player development, Mr. Blackman, and asked how many hours these players spent under PD to be able to freely take claim to them and their successes as the USTA. As you can imagine he never answered me. This tells me many things, one that the time is minimum, so claiming their success is dishonest and two the fact that these players became players despite the system created by the USTA.
