This is unacceptable Tennis Australia! By Javier Palenque
This morning when I got the Washington post I read that Tiley’s Tennis Australia has banned a few people from displaying “free Peng Shuai” T-shirts. Then I went online to see what the internet was saying and sure enough, Yahoo had the same story as did many more major media outlets. This is the worse PR a country as laid back and filled with wonderful people can have. Does TA have a board? do they realize that TA is making Australia look horrendous for weeks now? a true tyranny of sorts is in display live every day. First, it was the entire week of the Djokovic saga, then the court hearing of the same issue, then the violent deportation (Gestapo style) of the poor Czech Republic player with no recourse after being allowed in, then the news of TA board supporting everything that has been done so far to now the banning of a simple T-shirt which may show on TV and offend some Chinese company or government. WOW! Has the board stooped so low that it is money at all costs? Even the country’s reputation?
It is time for a moral reset, this means stop, pause, and let us think what is being done as acceptable is NOT.
