WHAT ARE THE DOCTORS’ ORDERS, USTA?

Yesterday the USTA announced that the new Chairman of the Board and president of the USTA is Dr. Brian Hainline, my inside sources tell me that he is a good man and that he listens and wants to help. While I do not know this, let us take those comments to be true and help Dr. Hainline in these next 45 days before he is the Chairman, so he knows what to do. While he is the doctor that has been in the USTA forever, here are the problems that need immediate attention, so for this exercise, we (tennis constituents) are the patient, and he is what he is the Dr. now seeing the ill patient (the sport).

Mr. Hainline is part of my email list and I do know he reads what I write, so maybe it’s a good start, who knows?

I will list a few points that need immediate attention (the sports symptoms).

PARTICIPATION REPORTING

The real participation numbers are never reported, especially the ones that the USTA controls. It is clear that by design the USTA deceives people with this reporting as simply looking at USTA draws of 18’s will tell you that no one is playing. So, trying to take credit for people who pick up a racquet and have nothing to do with the USTA is dishonest. Your orders are to fix this and show transparency.
